Try Sew Camp
About Try Sew Camp

No lie! Learning to sew on your own can be frustrating, messy and mistakes are costly, but what if you had an all-inclusive experience? There's no mess to worry over and plenty of support and encouragement.

Sewing is a visual and tactile art that can be as intricate or as easy as you care to make it.

Most of us tolerate a poor fit with our clothes, we buy clothes and get a rude awakening when we try them on at home because the store mirrors are different or maybe you don't even own a full-length mirror. It's not uncommon to have various sizes in areas of your body but it can be a shopping nightmare.
If you are curious about what it takes to have a great silhouette in your appearance, take a class and learn how to make your clothes fit.
We will use minimal pattern pieces and I will teach you ready-to-wear techniques to streamline the process so you can finish easily and wear your makes with pride.
Best of all, this is an all-inclusive experience, the cost of the class covers materials, tools and machines. you will take all your makes with you when you finish plus your customized pattern.
Your final garment will be your choice of colour and you will love all of your makes, each different and useful.

Hello, my name is Leslie, Try Sew Camp is the third chapter of life for me. I love the art of construction, I marvel at craftsmanship and those who are driven to make with their hands. I bring to Sew Camp my many years of sewing experience, over the years I've been a costume designer for a local professional theatre company as well as worked in an alteration shop where I learned many trade secrets, I explored the world of quilting for a while but my love is garment construction and fitting. I hope to inspire others in their journey of self-acceptance and to find their shine. All are welcome.
